Why

Roosevelt University's alumni magazine, "The Roosevelt Review" is well-written, strikingly-designed, award-winning, and much beloved by the thousands of alums it reaches twice every year. What it's not, however, is digital in a world that inreasingly is.

how

Using the fall 2013 issue as inspiration and a jumping off point, content-wise, I designed and developed a microsite and captured all the top-quality writing, photography, and design of the printed "Review." A full-screen photograph greets visitors on what functions as a long-scrolling, completely searchable table of contents page. Individual stories are laid out adaptively and browsing past issues, accessing the main roosevelt.edu site, and even a one-click feature for contributing alumni donations and financial gifts were implemented with intuitiveness and ease of use in mind.

outcome

This prototype was used as the foundation for a fully-responsive Wordpress site, one that garners more than 1,200 unique visitors each month.
